Exploding Asteroid Theory Strengthened by New Evidence
Was the course of life on the planet altered 12,900 years ago by a giant comet exploding over Canada? New evidence found by UC Assistant Professor of Anthropology Ken Tankersley and colleagues suggests the answer is affirmative.

It would be interesting to know that events such a long time ago, was in the hands of the Gods, are probably still are.
And it's understandable the climate would be affected.
Climate change is a favorite topic for Tankersley. "The ultimate importance of this kind of work is showing that we can’t control everything," he says. "Our planet has been hit by asteroids many times throughout its history, and when that happens, it does produce climate change."
And it's understandable the climate would be affected.

Yes, and for a long time afterward, depending on the situation. The one under discussion apparently resulted in mass extinctions over a wide area. The real life version of the ancient "Giants" of mythology. Our ancestors metamorphosed these forces into deific power and the havoc they made of the world into destroyer attacks on the builder forces of life and eventually of civilizations.
We can all look forward to more visitors from space in the future. Fortunately Jupiter is large enough and in the way and so grabs quite a few out of collision courses with earth, but some day one will get through. Maybe by then we shall be smart enough to intercept it. We have already blown up an ice comet to study its possible amino acids and other contents, so here's hoping ...
